    Re: hi

    Hi,

I am a developer and I use CuteSoft Editor as my editor of choice! :-)

I too eagerly await the upcoming release of version 6.0.

A piece of advice from someone who has also experienced the challenge of meeting deadlines due to unknown variables and who has fallen fowl of false promises and fallen out of communication when things went wrong :

"You cannot NOT communicate!"  In otherwords not saying anything is worse than saying we can't make the deadline.

You have nothing to fear from the community once you remain in communication.

Communication eliviates any frustration from customers.

You have a choice at this point based on your previous communication:

Either update this thread daily one way or the other.

    or

Loose customers to other competitor products such as telerik or ComponentArt's upcoming Editor release. They may be less feature rich but nonetheless release dates are being meet.

So, I invite you to be honest and state the present state of version 6.0.  I have decisions to make and CuteSoft can either remain on my "recommended list" and be my editior of choice or it can be on my "avoided List" and I jump ship.

The developer community has a voice and its a voice that has consequences.

Once I've made the decision this week there will be no going back.

So without futher delay, would CuteSoft "Please Stand Up!"

    Regards,

    A loyal Cutesoft Editor User..

    Re: hi

    another Loyal user....

I check this forum several times a day for v6. I always believe cuteEditor is the best one. But, losing customers will make cute being "eaten" gradually by competitors.  For now, I just pray that the new features ("it will take competitors lots of time to copy them") will make everyone happy, especially those who have been waiting for long time.

Re: When version 6.0 becomes availble?

I will also be making my decision this week whether to stay with Cutesoft or go with another editor.  I have a deadline to make and do not wish to loose any of my customers.

    Re: hi

I think what is the most disappointing is the lack of communication.  All these promised are coming out for things to be released...like on Monday, and it's now Wednesday and there's no release - which is annoying but not as bad as the fact that we've all been left hanging thinking something was due on monday, but now it hasn't arrived...so when's the next promised date?  I understand projects can drag on and things happen that cause more bugs to come out - it's kind of just the nature of developing I guess, but you really really need to keep the customer informed about what's happening, especially when you shoot past so many promised dates.

    Re: hi

Well, I suggested this software to our developer as a replacement. Unfortunately, we were both sold a bill of goods and I am extremely disappointed. If the "features" don't work - they're BUGS!. The bug that corrupts the display of "styled" HTML within the editor should be a minor fix. This has been reported for MONTHS! Jeez - even Microsoft works faster than this.

This is absolutely ridiculous. My customers can't use the editor so we have to do 4-5 times the work we need to because we can't let our customers use our "features." So I'm losing business to competitors and having to work harder to keep who I have.

I can't see how a company like that stays in business - not very cute to me. We should all be up in arms.

We are still working hard on killing the bugs of Firefox, Safari and Opera.

We may release it on next week.

Re: When version 6.0 becomes availble?

    Adam,

We have heard it all before from you. What happened to the Beta download link you promised for the 19th? You CuteSoft guys are just a bunch of liars. You could have released a dot release to fix the .NET related bugs and that would have made most of us happy for a while. Instead you guys have been promising to fix everything and add features in the new version for over 7 months.

Sometimes fixing the bugs in the existing version is more important than shipping a new buggy version.

FYI everyone else, http://www.htmlarea.com has a great list of alternative editors. 88 of them I think. I'm considering one called QWebeditor which is JavaScript/DHTML based and one that works on all browsers and doesn't have .Net problems or applet issues. Also, FreeTextBox.com is suposed to be releasing Version 4 very soon and it will support Safari and Opera I believe. If you are willing to wait a bit, they might just have theirs out before the CuteSoft liars have there latest buggy version out. After all, even if 6 was released today, you know it would be total junk until version 6.3.

Re: When version 6.0 becomes availble?

Mr Adam, this is really unacceptable.

The "may" word definitely sound "very scaring" to us. It means not definite, not decisive and not confirmed which is the worst senarior that most of us are experiencing now.

I really see no reason why can't the bugs be fixed and released ASAP to a version like 5.4? Instead of everybody are waiting for the "draggy" ver6.

When first sight to your product, I am exciting. But now, I am disappointed.

What ever good comments on your product does not win over the amount of negative comments on your support & services.

Like others, I have spent alot of times to understand your product and integrating to my application. Now, it may all need to go to waste. I am really very un-reluctant to purchase a version with lot of outstanding bugs that have not been fixed yet.

Very sad to say all these.

Re: When version 6.0 becomes availble?

    Guys,

I am very sorry for the troubles and I don't know what else to say.

We are working very hard on the version 6.0. Right now we are finishing this project, cutting some features and make sure we can have a download version on next monday.

Is it possible to post a release candidate so we can start trying to integrate this into our products?

Re: When version 6.0 becomes availble?

    Hi Adam and CuteSoft Team,

I think that if they release a Beta for Version 6 for everyone to test and adapt to, then that is nice.

Keeping everyone in dark by just saying, we are working hard, is making things worse.

In my humble opinion, they should release a Beta at least.

Yes, We are doing it now.

Meaning? I can not find it anywhere, so I can safely assume that now refers to an unknown time in the far future?
Or is now today Friday the 23 of March 2007? Please clarify for me, because I have been waiting for 6 month now.

Re: When version 6.0 becomes availble?

    Dear Cutesoft,

Your post "Yes, We are doing it now." was posted over 17 hours ago and yet there is nothing public to either view or download.

As a company you continue to ignore the consquences of the quality of your communication.

As previously stated I (the customer) have a decision to make based on how Cutesoft chooses to interact with me (the customer) here on these public forums and the effort that is made to satisfy the community and their requests.

As of 11:30am (GMT) this will be my final communication on this matter and it is as follows:

If Cutsoft do not deliver a downloadable working version of its Editor (v6.0) by 5pm (GMT) today, 23 March 2007 I will no longer be a customer of Cutsoft or use any of their product(s).  Our relationship will be severed.

Anything other than a working download (minor bugs included) will be considered unacceptable.

    The consequences of this are:

1). All our projects will be replaced with an alternative editor product.
2). All further projects which would have required the purchase of other CuteSoft components will be re-evaluated and similar components will be found elsewhere.

I have been extremely tolerant for the last six months and more than willing to entertain delays. I've been polite, understanding and accepted the reasons for the continual rescheduling. No more.

The time is NOW and the clock is ticking.
