Cute editor loads slow first time

I am only using minimal config, but the first time Cute Editor loads from my site it is so slow, but from there on out it is really fast. I don't have this problem using your editor, so I must be doing something wrong, or it may just be that it is because it isn't being used enough to remain in cache. Is there anyway to make it stay in cache permenantlly?

Are you using the version 4.5?

If not, can you uprgade to the version 4.5. Editor loading speed is greatly improved in the version 4.5.

Please check what's new in version 4.5.

I am using the new version and it is faster.. thanks, but it is still not fast enough on first load, which in my case is bad because it is not used enough to stay in cache. Is there a particular place I can increase the cache to like a day?

Thanks for the fast response! and I really do love the control and obviosly it works great on your site, so I must be doing something wrong, or it is the cache that is the problem... I am too new to know:)

From our experience its the images. I dont' think you can 'pre-cache' them in anyway as the browser needs to download them individually...

I don't think it is the images that are all of the problem because if I open the editor on one computer first and then open it on another within an hour or so it is super fast, which makes me think it is because the editor is in the server's cache to make it so fast. Unfortunately for what I use this for it doesn't get used every hour, so I get a lot of complaints about it being slow for the users:(. Just hoping there is a way to make it stay in cache even longer:)

Is caching done with Cute Editor? Please confirm the same. We are facing the similar issue with loading Cute Editor for the first time.

Hi guys,

This issue will be resolved in the coming version 5.0. Terry have found a solution to this.

By default, the Cute Editor loads all the functions, toolbars and menus. Most of our clients don't use the default configuration and the speed can be improved by disabled some buttons. Please check the article in the developer guide: How to change the layout of the toolbars?

I'm having the same problem (Version 5.3.0). Judging from the posts I've read this has been an ongoing problem for a long time now. I've reduced the toolbar down to a single Bold function and it still takes 60-120 seconds to load or just hangs the page until I refresh it - but only the first time.

There must be some way of preloading it.

I tried setting Editor.RenderRichDropDown Property to false - no change in load time.

Is there a projected release date for 6.0 and how much $$ will it be to upgrade?

The rich dropdown slows the loading time a little bit.

The version 6.0 will be released in September.

The price is same and will offer free upgrade to the existing clients.

I am evaluating 5.3. I have a form with 15 controls. I have disabled as many controls as I can.

Using IE 6.0.2900.2180, it takes 25 seconds to load the form.

Using FireFox 1.5.0.0, it takes 10 seconds to load the form.

- Any thoughts on the performance difference?

- I keep seeing references to V6 but I haven't seen it available in the downloads.

In Version 6.0, numerous optimization methods has been applied. It's clean, compact, extremely fast-loading, but still powerful and efficient.

We will release this soon after Christmas.
