    Thanks Adam, I had cuteeditor.lic in the bin folder, but inspired by your answer I tried putting cuteeditor.lic into same folder as the compiled Custom Webpart library dll (ie in the obj\debug folder of the Webpart library project) - that has fixed the license problem!     Is there any issue with having the dictionary folder outside of the bin?  I know it works from testing, but are there any issues with defining say a ''dictionary'' folder and pointing to that instead?  With 11 dll's in the application I'm adding this to, I'd prefer not to have to clutter up the bin folder any more than it already ...

    I can see the dictionaries in the bin folder. It wasn't simple to change the try and us the GB one but I have manually changed the reference from US to GB and it is working now.   My quesiton is when a user adds words to the dictionary where are they stored?
