Hi Ken,   I hoped this would be so simple, but no, it was not, when i switch to code mode and then back to normal the DOCTYPE has disappeared again.   You can press F12 to see it happen in IE8.   Any other suggestions?   Regards, Håkan

I cannot reproduce this issue in the following example:   http://cutesoft.net/example/general.aspx   I've tried using IE 8.0, IE 7.0 and Firefox.   Which browser are you using? Can you also try this example?

So there isn't any way to disable the Gecko configuration then?  Part of what I'm trying to accomplish is the need to limit the editor configuration to a single point for all browser types.  I realize that some features that are supported with IE are not currently functional within Firefox (e.g. table editing) when using cute editor ...
