I suggest you upgrade to the latest version. It has been fixed in the latest version and free for upgrade from 6.1.

separate server.

Please follow the steps below:
1. Copy the files under CuteEditor to the target directory.
2. Map the directory in IIS as a virtual directory only (not application).
3. Add the following entry into your web.config.
<add key=''CuteEditorDefaultFilesPath'' value=''~/editor'' />

I think you can set CuteEditor's image path for every user, then user can upload image to his/her
own folder and insert in to CuteEditor.

I'm sorry... of course that validation trick can be done server-side as well.
It's working just fine now with an (hidden)
extra
TextBox that gets its value in the server-side OnFileUploaded event,
and a RequiredFieldValidator on that TextBox.
