Auto Thumbnail with SQL

We are using SQL server to store images and documents, I had the Auto Thumbnail button but it didn't seem to work and I didn't get a preview of selected images. I copied my downfile.aspx file into the CuteEditor/Dialogs folder and now I get previews of the images but the Image Editor and Auto thumbnail buttons disappear. Is it possible to use these features with SQL and if so, how??

Image Editor and Auto thumbnail buttons don't work for storing files (images and documents) into a Database example.
