Steps to reproduce

 

paste the folowing html into the demo

now single click selects the div, 2nd click allows editing inside the div, but if you try and insert a template now at your cursor point you can select the template but clicking insert gives the "accessing your clipboard"  prompt and either allow or don't and you don't get the html from your selected template inserted.

 

indeed other functionality seems to go a little asqew when you are editing inside this fixed width div (html and preview buttons do nothing)

ok not such a polished presentation as yours... [do you recommend a good swf desktop recorder?]

 

but here's me doing it... differences I can see is that I am trying to insert into a p tag, and clicking on the name of the template, not the checkbox next to it (although when I realised that I did try it that way and same thing happened.)

[But FYI we have the elements we use in folders so have to click the folder name anyways in our prodution environment... so the checkbox only selection won't work for us anyway.]

 

Ps just in case this is IE8 on Vista 32bit.

IE8->Internet Options -> Security -> Custom Level -> allow access to Clipboard programming process -> Enable

Ok, so are you now able to reproduce this issue?

 

Making the changes you mentioned, stops the allow access prompt, but the template does not get inserted.

 

(plus don't really want to have to tell our 100+ clients to have to make this change!)

I have made your changes, but all this does is stop the allow access prompt, the template is still not inserted.

 

(Ps I don't really want to have to tell our 100+ clients to have to do this, especially as they don't currently with CE 6.0)

This issue has been flagged on our last five websites by our clients, we are getting to a stage where we really do need a solution. Can you please let me know if you are able to help us with this or if we need to go back to our clients and explore alternative routes?

This issue is related to IE Div inner selection. We are investigating this issue and will get back to you as soon as possible.

Do you have a ETA on this?

 

Also I just noticed that the latest ce6 download has an upload date of 28/08/09 newer than when we put ce6.4 into production. (our version has most file dates of 04/06/09) is this an interim upgrade with fixes?

 

And might it solve our problems???

 

If so how can I get notification that you have posted an modified release, for future reference?

This issue is not resolved yet. We are still working on it.

Hi there, if it helps at all I have just gone back through all our previous ce versions.

And this issue is present through 6.4, 6.3,6.2,6.1.1,6.1

 

It is not present in v6.0 !!! hoorah looks like reverting clients back to this version for the time being.

My tech director is asking if you are antcipating resolution of the issue in the next week? or month?

Ok so I  tried the newer v6.5 to see if this issue had been resolved and have been talking to eric@cutesoft on and off over the last few weeks via cute support.

 

We have between us isolated this a little further. If using the demo you click on the title of the template to insert rather than click the checkbox then the template doesn't get inserted.

 

Also in our case we use folders to organise templates and doing this there is no way not to have to click on the title of the folder to open that folder to insert the template. :-(

 

Just thought I'd post what eric and I were trying to get resolved in case another member at cute has a resolution.
