    Errant Messages in output when Pasting from MS Word

    Hello,

    When I paste Word text into the editor and the pasted content includes more than one level of bulleted lists, I get the following types of spurious output mixed in with the bulleted lists:

        <!--[if !supportLists]-->
        <!--[endif]--><!--[if !supportLists]--><!--[endif]-->

    If I subsequently hand-edit the areas that are problematic, the if statement doesn't disappear, but simply moves to some other place in the text. Is this a known issue with the Editor and if so is there a known fix?

    Note that I see this under Firefox 1.5, but not under IE6. Let me know if you need more info, e.g. such as a copy of the Word text I'm trying to paste, etc.

    Thanks,
    Kazzlo

    Re: Errant Messages in output when Pasting from MS Word

    Hi Adam,

    I was able to reproduce the problem from your cutesoft page (http://cutesoft.net/example/general.aspx).. When I paste from Word into your editor operating within a Firefox 1.5 browser window, I get the following HTML:

    Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x
    1. Under the ‘Tools’ menu, click ‘Internet Options’.
    2. Click on the ‘Security’ tab and then the ‘Custom Level’ button.
    3. Scroll down to the ‘Cookies’ section.

    ·     Set ‘Allow cookies that are stored on your computer’ to ‘Enable’.

    ·     Set ‘Allow per-session cookies’ to ‘Enable’.

    1. Click OK to save changes.

    However, when I paste the same Word content into your editor under an IE6 browser window, I don't get the offending HTML:

    Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x
    1. Under the ‘Tools’ menu, click ‘Internet Options’.
    2. Click on the ‘Security’ tab and then the ‘Custom Level’ button.
    3. Scroll down to the ‘Cookies’ section.

    ·     Set ‘Allow cookies that are stored on your computer’ to ‘Enable’.

    ·     Set ‘Allow per-session cookies’ to ‘Enable’.

    1. Click OK to save changes.

    The tags that my content publisher are having difficulty with are:

        <!--[if !supportLists]-->
        <!--[endif]--><!--[if !supportLists]--><!--[endif]-->

    I'll email you the Word doc as you suggested.

    Thanks,
    Kazzlo

    Thanks Adam,

    Yes, the only place that I saw the error was with Firefox 1.5.
