Can't execute CutechatStandalone.sql Script

Hi All,

I can't seem to execute the provided database script. I have a MS SQL 2005 database on my web host account but when i tried to execute the script (without modifying it at all), i get the following error:

>[Error] Script lines: 1-1217 -----------------------
Line 1: Incorrect syntax near 'ˇ'.

More exceptions ... '.d.b.o.' is an invalid name because it contains a NULL character.

[Executed: 8/29/07 1:03:47 AM EST ] [Execution: 0/ms]

Any ideas?

Ian,

Remove all "[dbo]." in the SQL Script and try again.

Ian,

1. If you using SQL Server tools, please open the SQL file in a notepad Unicode encoding. Then copy the content of it to your SQL tools.

2. If you write a code to execute the script on server you need to make sure you are using Encoding.Unicode.

string content = null;
using (System.IO.StreamReader reader = new System.IO.StreamReader(filepath, System.Text.Encoding.Unicode, true))
{
content = reader.ReadToEnd();
}

Hi Adam,

Thanks a lot for your quick response and help. I deleted the "[dbo]." occurances in script and it added everything in fine.

Now I have another problem though. I am getting a error which is pretty similar to errors that other people are getting but instead of a null reference exception, I'm getting a System.Security.VerifcationException. Please see below:

I downloaded cute chat only a few weeks ago so I'm sure I'm using version 3.1. My web host is on medium level trust and I have checked my connection string thoroughly - and am very sure its correct. Any ideas?

Which host service are you using?

Does your host use a customized medium trust environment? Some host like CrystalTech have own understanding of medium trust.

Hi Adam,

Thanks a lot for replying. I am using Brinkster (I think its Canadian)?

I spoke to their technical support team and they sent me a very short article that can be found at http://kb.brinkster.com/Kb.asp?kb=114164. Its pretty much saying that if you use external assemblies (DLLs), they need to have the AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers attribute.

Do I need to do this for cuteChat? Any ideas?
