I just purchased Cute Editor and I hope I didn't mess up.  I need to post just the plain text to my database without any html tags.  Is this possible?  What setting do I use to make sure only formated plain text gets written to the database?

It's possible. You need to use Regular Expressions to extract the plain text from HTML code.
