I have an application which requires enabling the user to insert asp script tags in the editor window to set certain variables...
Using the option above the editor works as expected in IE ... the script tags <%...%> and contents between are NOT displayed in Normal mode, and display as expected in HTML mode. Saving to the database works great... etc.
I have a severe problem in Firefox, however.
- On open, the script tags and contents display in Normal mode (which we really don't want!). If content is entered around (before or after) the script block in normal mode, it is removed on save, reverting to the original content (with just the script block).
- Switching to HTML mode, we find the opening and closing script tags have been replaced with the html representation of less than and greater than. If you save from this mode, your script block no longer works ... If you change the block back to <%... and save, it converts them prior to the save and it's still broken. If you change the block back and switch to normal mode before saving, it saves correctly and the script works... BUT, you're still left with the issue above.
As I noted earlier... this works fine in IE.
Is there some routine you're running to replace < and > with < andn > ONLY IN GECKO based browsers? If so, can I disable it???
I purchased this editor to replace another that is limited to IE on Windows, specifically to support Firefox and other platforms. It is extremely important to me to have this functionality in Firefox. Please help!
