    CE .NET license

    Hi,

we are a little unclear on which Cute Editor .NET license we would need for the following scenario:

One developer codes a customer specific application. Of course this web app is developed within our enviroment on a single in-house server. Then the app is deployed to the customer; where it will be installed withing their's intranet.
Which sort of license? - We would understand a single "Developer License", which allows unlimited royalty runtimes.

What if the customer wants to do the further development? - We would understand a "Single Domain License" if the app runs within on domain.

If we do the further development, they do not need any license for themself, cause their "runtime" license is covered by our developer
license. Did we get that right?

    Thanks for clarifying.

    Best regards,
    Markus

    Re: CE .NET license

    Hi  Markus,

This Developer license $499 entitles one developer to install and use the product on unlimited number of websites. It applies to software components, control or class libraries that are integrated by developers into their applications. All developer products have royalty free runtimes. This means that you may freely distribute the product with your own application.

This Developer Team license $799 entitles 4 developers to install and use the product on unlimited number of websites. It applies to software components, control or class libraries that are integrated by developers into their applications. All developer products have royalty free runtimes. This means that you may freely distribute the product with your own application.

Dev Team license = 4 developer license
We will keep the developer(s)'s names on file as our point of contact for technical support

With this developer license, all the work/websites/application done by this developer will be covered. If you have more developers come onboard, then you can upgrade to developer team license.

If developer license are too much for a starter, you can also use domain or small business License. Those licenses are good for http://localhost:xxxx/xxxx by default, so you can get the customers to buy their license while you get covered on your local development.

A Domain license allows the control to run on 1 domain/subdomain name, ie http://news.domain.com or http://intranet or http://192.168.0.1

A Small Business License allows 10 such names

An IP license enables all the domains/subdomains hosted on this IP@ to use the control.

All license options are good for http://localhost. I'd highly recommend Small Business License as it's the most popular choice among our customers. Out of the 10 names, you can use one or two for the internal dev server ie. http://intranet while keep the rest for your production servers.
    Thank you for asking
