We have an application with multiple (>20) editor controls. While testing users have found that when cutting and pasting to and from MS Word the browser will lock and eventually display "Not Responding". At times the user can cut from the web document into word and back multiple times and other times the user was only able to cut and paste a couple of times before the browser was unresponsive.

To ensure it was not our code causing the problem I requested a user use the following demo page from your site to try and duplicate the issue:

The following is the behavior that was experienced:

The user copied text into the first editor from word multiple times.

After ~3 copy/paste iterations, upon requesting to paste (ctrl^v) from word the user got the prompt for if they would like to clean their text .

The user clicked ok. It pasted as expected. When the user then clicked on the second box the browser stopped responding.

OS: XP

Browser: IE 6

For what its worth.. I am getting the same error occasionally.. although my machine is old as dirt

Our machines have a 3 year life cycle so I do not believe that would be playing a factor.

Does it work if your clients copy/paste the regular html code instead of content from MS Word?

With Word it is very repeatable. I have not got it lock up by pasting HTML from a browser into the Editor.

Our users are pasting from Word so that is not a scenario we are actively testing for.

We are not able to reproduce this issu in version 6.4.

Can you try the following example?

6.4 http://cutesoft.net/example/general.aspx

Could not readily get it lock up IE in either of those links.

But after about 5 pastes it locked up in the page we orignally referenced.

Office 2007 IE7

CS 6.4 tried with beta javascript file same result.

Note, we have another issue in the forums on Autosizing not working when multiple editors are present.

It seems both of these problems involve the presence of multiple editors on the page.

We have do many tests. but still not able to reproduce this bug.

Can you test Office2003 or IE8 ?

In our scenario we do not use the "do you want to clean the code before pasting from Word " option box. So I can't really test from that page.

Would it be possible to get the 6.5 beta?

6.5 didn't fix, we're scrapping the cs editor
