We're using Cute Editor 6.1.

 

When we insert or select a video using Internet Explorer, it will inconsistently retain a black box in the video's position relative to the browser window when switching from Normal to HTML mode, or even navigating off the page to another aspx page or an asp page. 

 

 

 

 

 

Can you reproduce this issue in the following example?

 

 

If not, please download the version 6.4. The upgrade is free. Your existing license file should work for this new version.

Using the link you provided I replicated the issue on my first try on a Vista machine using IE7.  I uploaded the dodo.mpg file, and both the video from the dialog box and where it was inserted remained on the screen.  See screenshots below:

 

 

We are investigating this issue and will get back to you as soon as possible.

Any updates?  Our IT manager engaged in a chat session and was assured that it would be fixed in a build on 8/14, I downloaded & installed 6.4 today but still have the problem, and still had the problem using the example link you sent.
