I am having a problem getting the web messenger to work after the installation.

I downloaded and installed : cutechatstandalone.zip.

 

I followed the steps to create the virtual directory - there are additional steps required to make the virtual directory a "true" virtual directory (ex. create an application name, enable scripts, etc.).

 

That aside, I updated the web config, and I can create a user, a chat room, start a chat room, etc.

I am not interested in the chat product, I am only interested in the web messenger.

 

Once I click on the web messenger link , a window pops open and I get stuck in an infinite loop of script errors.

 

I am forced to kill the IE window with the task manager.

 

My environment is:

DB: SQL 2005 Enterprise Edition

App Server:  Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition with SP2.

Client:  WIndows XP with SP3, IE 7.0.

 

By default the application is using .Net Framework 1.1

There is no difference if I switch it to Framework 2.0 - I get the same errors.

 

 

Any ideas?

 

1. Do you have problems if you enter the chat room?

 

2. Can you post the detailed error message?

1.  I do encounter issues when I enter the chat room. 

The page will load (with script errors) and I am unable to post messages.

 

2.  I uploaded  a pdf Cute Chat Error Screenshots  with screenshots of the chat page error, the error I encounter when I click the "Messenger" link and some screenshots of the IIS configuration.

 

I don't see any errors in the system event logs on the application (IIS) host.  Let me know if there is somewhere else I should look for more detailed logs.
