There is a bug that can be recreated on the DEMO page as well. On Mac/PC Safari 2 and 3 and Google Chrome when a user highlights the text and inserts a hyperlink the editor deletes the next 4-5 characters of the text after the link including the letter spacing.
I normally wouldn't care about these browsers but the client we built a site for are mac users and they do all their blog editing on Safari and Mac. The reviewers are all PC users using Google Chrome. Since Chrome now has about 3.7% of the market share and rising we need to start testing here. With G1 phone and android becoming forces to be reckoned with Chrome is going to give Firefox a run for share for sure.
What are the chances this issue can be addressed? If it isn't we will be forced to change editors which would be waste of dev time, a financial loss and a shame because we like Cute here. All in all it's a minor bug on a MAJOR feature that is constantly used is why it's kind of urgent for us to make a decision soon.
