ETA for fix - numerous bugs in operator client v4

Just wondering if there's any ETA for a fix for the windows shutdown event bug, and also if you intend to do anything with the 'connection to server is lost' error dialog in the live chat operator client.  My users have been living with these issues for almost six months and they're growing impatient.

A strong suggestion for dealing with the disconnect issue is to simply change the systray icon to something that indicates to the user something is not good.  Also, it would be nice to clear out the operator and visitor lists when this event is raised so the operator doesn't see phantom operators / visitors.  The error dialog is just not very user friendly - look at applications like google talk.  It simply tries reconnecting - forever if necessary - without an ugly and confusing (to end users) error dialog telling them something they won't necessarily understand.

I understand that testing takes time, but these are minor issues and those of us on this forum who've reported them have all been extremely patient about this.  The majority of us (your customers) are ourselves in the business of selling and supporting products, and there's nothing quite like explaining to a mob of aggravated salespeople why their tools aren't working.  Please, give us a date.

I would like to add something to phat_bastard's comments:

What's about the wrong connection time reported in the client? I see a list of customers (about 20 while I'm writing) connected to the site since 8 hours...

... and BTW, what is your ETA to respond to a support request of licensed customers? Looks like that "quick support" for you means many days... Some requests are really old and got little/no attention from your side.
    My patience reached the limit.

Re: ETA for fix - numerous bugs in operator client v4

I received an email from our sales manager this morning asking to roll them back (ha, if it were that easy) to the previous version.  Without a firm date for release this info is useless to me.

    Adam,

I've seen that some problems have been solved but not this one. I have installed ver. 5 and reboot the server. After the first login, I see some visitors listed in the operator client, the list is updated as soon as customers connect or disconnect, but the list I found after the first login in the mornig remain frozen, so at the end of the day some customers are listed to be connected for more than 8 hours.

    Please follow the steps below:

    1. Find the visitor which stays very long.

    2. Put the mouse cursor over the time column of the row.

    3. It will show the last active time of this client.

It may help you know this client is still active or not.

You can also send a chat invitation to the client.

Re: ETA for fix - numerous bugs in operator client v4

    Adam,

I have followed your suggestions and if I put the mouse cursor on the time column, the time changes every 10 seconds, this is the same for all listed visitors, which is impossible that all the visitors keep clicking all together for more than 8 hours.

From what I can see now all the listed visitors are there since 6 hours, or less, the list keep growing and growing. Sometimes some users disappear from the list, but the big part is still there. It is random.

So the bug has not been solved.

Re: ETA for fix - numerous bugs in operator client v4

If the last active time of the client is just 10 seconds ago, this mean the client is still in your site.  Do you have some code in your site which reload the page automatically?

    For example:

    <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="600">

    asp.net Chat http://cutesoft.net/ASP.NET+Chat/default.aspx
    Web Messenger: http://cutesoft.net/Web-Messenger/default.aspx
    asp.net wysiwyg editor: http://cutesoft.net/ASP.NET+WYSIWYG+Editor/default.aspx
    asp wysiwyg html editor: http://cutesoft.net/ASP
    asp.net Image Gallery: http://cutesoft.net/ASP.NET+Image+Gallery/default.aspx

Re: ETA for fix - numerous bugs in operator client v4

I have no code that reloads the page, the only code is the Google Analytics one.
Please note that now I see customers connected since this morning, so about 9 hours, which is impossible!
Our web site is an ecommerce, so customers do not stay so long :)

Re: ETA for fix - numerous bugs in operator client v4

We have the exact same issue however in Ver5, but we manage to track it down partly. Dont know if this might be helpful in your case, but our STUCK visitors seems to be whenever we have one moving from our HTTP frontend to our HTTPS backend. this doesnt call a disconnect and the session is still active. Due to that we move the HTTP -> HTTPS for simplifying our basket handling.

Perhaps some light on the mysterious growing queue.

Re: ETA for fix - numerous bugs in operator client v4

I want to add some more info.
Yesterday I have logged out the operator client after a full day of work and I wrote down all the IP of the visitors visitors "visiting" our web site since 9 hours. This morning I have logged in again (so after 12 hours) and some of the visitors are still there, connected since 21 hours, it is unrealistic, isn't it?

Please try to fix this bug, it is really annoying and makes the visitors list useless.

    Hi,

Can I have a temporary account to test online ?

If you can provide a FTP account so that I can make a test I will fix that more quickly.

Please send me a mail for that , thanks!

my Cutesoft mail address is terry@cutesoft.net
