failed to load

Hello,

Wondering if anyone can help me out. WHen I load my page with the editor, I get a pop up window that says:

Failed to load menus!

After I hit ok, it goes away and everything seems to work fine.

Ellen,

Can you try the following example?

http://cutesoft.net/asp/EnableAll.asp

If you can't reproduce the problem, can you try the examples included in the download package.

If you still can't reproduce the problem, the problem may be caused by the script conflict.

I experience the same problem in IE5.5 Win98 Second Edition. The problem occurs on your "enable all" as well.

Any ideas Adam?

Can you post the detailed error message or a screenshot?

I was wondering if a fix is available.

I just recently bought the latest version of CuteEditor.

I'm attaching a screenshot for your consideration.

Hi Adam,

This is an intranet site.

We have created a user control that displays CuteEditor in 2 modes.

We use this control in many pages where we need textarea like input.

By default, CuteEditor's configuration is Simple. Following is the code snippet from aspx

In some pages, we don't need the toolbar. So we change the look via following public method in code behind

public void SetPlainMode()

{

textArea.AutoConfigure = AutoConfigure.None;

textArea.ContextMenuMode = string.Empty;

textArea.EnableContextMenu = false;

textArea.EnableBrowserContextMenu = true;

}

In the screen shot above, we are calling this method in Page_Load of that page that uses this user control.

I hope this will give you enough clues.

Sachin,

First this forum is for cute editor asp version instead of .net version.

Second, can you create a very simple project showing the problem and send it to Adam@cutesoft.net and Terry@cutesoft.net?

Hi Adam,

Thanks for pointing that I was in wrong place!

When I searched for this error "Failed to load menus!", I only got some match in this thread.

I assumed if nobody reported this error before that may not mean they didn't encounter it.

Anyway, I figured out what was the problem.

It was in the code I posted earlier.

In SetPlainMode() in code-behind, I had this code

textArea.AotoConfigure = AutoConfigure.None

textArea.ContextMenuMode = string.Empty

I realised it should be "None".

Changing the value has fixed the problem.
