Well, in a way you are right. I've just found out the difference between your solution and my editor: The Browser. In Internet Explorer, the resizing and positioning with relative positioning works fine, but not in firefox (2.0.0.5). So, i guess there is a bug, or at least a compatibility problem. Hi, following problem: Layers with the attribute  position: relative cannot be moved or changed in size in the normal view, only by changing the html-code. Since definging size or position of relativly positioned layers is no violation against w3c-standards, i do not understand this behaviour. Thanks in advance, David
