Make sure you didn't specify the location of the license file at two different places.
For example, you created a new web application webapplication1, and create the licenses folder which contains the license file.
But in the root of your wwwroot, you have the web.config file which also specify the location of the ...

Suddenly the CuteEditor stopped working, if I shift back to the other default DotNetNuke editor, it works fine.
We are on a evaluation license, but 30 days should not have passed yet. Installed 22/9 I think.
