While it is possible to hide all of the icons at the top of the thumbnail view, the element containing the icons is still taking up real estate on the page.  It does not seem possible to hide/remove the entire element at the top of the control so that this space can be removed.  Basically even if the icons are hidden, the space on the ...

Is there a way to control the vertical spacing between the thumbnail and it's filename below it?  Currently, in a thumbnail view with multiple rows, it is not immediately apparent that the filename applies to the thumbail above it, not below it.  Being able to control this spacing would allow for some flexibility in layout.
