I ran into what appears to be the same issue.  it turns out that the SQL Server varchar field has a max. size of 8000.  So, if you try to 'update' a row with more than that, you'll get the error message indicating your data has been truncated, or something to that effect. Darold

Thanks Terry,   After adding the appkey, I was able to see a context request error from our community provider in the global.cs file.  After correcting this error, logging started to occur.  problem solved.   Your help is always appreciated!

Ibicus: Did you copy the Web/*.* to wwwroot/SamplePortal/Web/*.* ? If not so ,  When you get the error , please double click the [person-image] on the left of the login button , you would get the StackTrace . That would be very helpful for us to resovle this problem . Regards , Terry .

there was no web.config file. And when i put my editor by it self in a simple aspx file with all the default settings i get the same error message.  I am running asp.net 1.1  is this compatible with that?  ''An invalid character was fount in the text content''
