Well, I don't have AutoConfigure turned on, so it's just using the default setup for Normal view, which includes bold, underline, etc. Should I be explicitly setting the
toolbar
properties for Normal mode? If so, how should I do it?

I can fix the problem and it is 100% in Cute Editor. If you change the CuteEditorGroupMenuCell to not have a float:left; in style.css I correct the problem in Firefox.
