Have solved the above problem. Server administrator had turned off Sessions. Once he turned them back on it works fine. Now able to update content and retrieve it from the database ok.

thanks that was the problem after the upgrade I was look for class as files. I'm been picky but a better error message would have help me greatly, say style not found or something. Thanks for you all your help though it saved hours. RegardsRalph
