Thanbks for the reply, but not only can I not CHMOD the files as I'm not the owner but if I could I don't want to do it for every file someone uploads.   Do I have to get my ISP to CHMOD the files that are already there?   Who do I upload a file whilst setting the owner?   Cheers.
