I was using that example, but I switched the ID and it was returning the image tag information instead of just the URL.  Once I named the IDs properly it worked.   Thanks for your help!  

But then I am back to square one before you did the last fixes!   Will you be able to fix it so that it doesnt add any quotes if its within a comment tag?      

I have tested your code using IE 7 and firefox.  Both works fine here.

Conall,   It's possible to edit the span tag properties.   Open tag.config and add the following code:  <add pattern=''SPAN'' tab=''SPAN'' text=''[[SPAN]]'' control=''Tag_SPAN.ascx'' />   And created a control: Tag_SPAN.ascx

OcchioAlPremio :   That just a compatible warning in vs2005 . You can ignore it.   If you know what the Implements tag works , you can move the code to App_Code .   Regards , Terry .
