koala59230,   You have to use virtual dir for this situation.   The reason is simple: the account of server A only have permission to server A. It doesn't have permission to upload any thing to other sites.    

The version 3.0 doesn't have the feature to Restricting Files by Extensions.   You can use the Downloadable Files dialog to upload the excel files. Btw, it's free to upgrade to the version 5.0.
