Is this suppose to work?

 

i created a two cell table and had my cursor in the first cell. Before entering text I chose one of my css classes. Next i started typing and teh class was not applied. Going into the html view the <td> tag did not have the class applied either.  This used to work. wondering what i could hav chagned to break this.
