The Special Characters button brings up a dialog box. In IE7, there are options to change the default font between default, Webdings, Wingdings, etc. In Firefox 3, these radio buttons do not appear. This is reproduced on the demos on this site. Here are relevant screenshots of the issue on this site. The top is the Firefox behavior, the bottom is the IE behavior.
