Have you ever considered putting all of your toolbar graphics into one file and then using offsets to display the image?

 

The reason I am asking this is that one of our new networks is using IE6 and is very limited in options. It seems that it does not cache anything! Also we seem to get download slots, i.e. it will download 40 items, then you have to wait a while and then another 40 will download. Sometimes it just seems to not get all the files! The biggest problem I have is that the editor seems to download around 90 odd files everytime its loaded, most of those being the images.

 

Now i know its the new network at fault, but its not anything I shall ever be able to change due to it being outsourced etc.

 

So I am wondering if its possible or not to make the toolbar images into the one graphic, one for each theme, this would improve our download time phenominally and may just improve it for normal networks too!
