We have the same problem on our site, about 35% cannot use the chatroom.  We traced it to AOL users, using the AOL internet explorer browser that ships with AOL.  Seems it's not the full version and has problems with cutechat. 

 

Wish we'd known about this too, but hope it resolved in the next version...
