She doesn't want to create special charcters however.  She just wanted to insert one special character and it locked the text box in a state of permanent special characters when she wanted it to go back to regular text.  She is not a coder so she cannot remove any code from the text.  She just wanted to insert the spade character--is this a common problem for the text box to remain in special characters mode?
