In IE 6 & 7 (not tested in other versions):  If you change the color and type the text goes to that color which is good.  However if you change the color again then all previously entered text in that color changes as well -- it doesn't just change the color for going forward

 

1) type some text

2) change font color (the previous text changes to the new color)

3) continue typing
