I have a custom button on the Cute Editor that opens a new window that allows the user to select from a dynamically built list.   When the user has selected the item the window closes and the value of the item is pasted into the Cute Editor text area at the location of the cursor. 

What I haven't figured out yet is how do I pass the value of the highlighted text, if there is any, from the Cute Editor to the popup window.
