I'm having the same problem (Version 5.3.0). Judging from the posts I've read this has been an ongoing problem for a long time now. I've reduced the toolbar down to a single Bold function and it still takes 60-120 seconds to load or just hangs the page until I refresh it - but only the first time.

 

There must be some way of preloading it.
