This behavior is by design.

When the user click the insert paragraph button, the CuteEditor will automatically insert the "<p></p>" code.

The cursor will be placed right after the closing tags.

For your situations, you can let your users use the box formatting button, just type the content, highlight it , then click the box formatting button.

The content will be automatically put into the box.
