OK...now I know what I did wrong! There are two copies of the file WinIE.js...one in the \CuteEditor_Files\ and one in \CuteEditor_Files\Scripts\. The correct file to edit is the \CuteEditor_Files\Scripts\WinIE.js. Everything works as expected now.
