Installed a bin folder in the root of my site and inserted the two files. Changed permission for the folder and attempted to use the spell checker.

The error indicates that it is looking for SpellChecker.aspx and gave the path. I looked and confirmed that the file is on the server.

Called my host and asked if they supported .net and directed them to my web files. The confirmed that everthing was okay on their end and also checked the function and received the same error.

I am wondering if there is something that I missed, they told me I could just create the bin folder, is that wrong?

Thanks for responding Adam,

The site is an asp site hosted with 1and1.

The cuteeditor files are in the root folder along with the remainder of the site.

I have confirmed that the files are in the bin folder and that permission to modify them are set. I also confirmed that the SpellCheck.aspx is in the CuteEditor_Files folder on the server.

Here is the error message:

1. Backup SpellCheker.aspx

2. Then open this page and change it to:

<%@ Page language="c#"%>
<html>
<head>
</head>
<body>
Nothing.
</body>
</html>

3. Then visit this URL.

If the problem still exists, you need to ask your host how they set up the server.

Adam,

I spoke with 1and1.com and they failed to let me in on a little secret. There is a 'switch' hidden in the Application Setting of the console Web Files that turns on ASP.net and has to be set for it to do so.

I was able to enable it for the site, but when I did the editor didn't work correctly. It loads, and looks normal, but the content doesn't appear and there is an error in the bottom left corner:

I went back into the control panel and disabled the ASP.net function after taking this screenshot of the error and the editor is loading correctly now.

Since I've owned this product, I have never had the spell checker working because I was afraid that the error wasn't going to be easy to fix. Guess I was right. Not any fault of the CuteEditor - I still love your product. Why isn't anything easy? LOL

I searched your forum on _Cstate and found that an include file that determines version should be removed from two files. Is that the correct solution?

Adam, I follow your advice (from another post as stated above) and removed the include file in the js.asp files.

I am now able to serve ,net pages and the editor displays correctly on the page.

The spell checker still gives the following error:

I uploaded the bin folder with the two files and went back in to make sure they have security set for edit/add.
