I have produced my own image gallery with a few tools for the user to handle the images. Can I implement this gallery into the Cute Editor instead of the original one?

 

That means that I do not need either the upload function or the folder view in the gallery preview window, just a preview window to insert borders etc.

Yes. It's possible. All you need to do is createing a custom dialog and put your own image gallery into this dialog.
