Hex Characters in PlainText property

When I make reference to the PlainText property of an instance of the editor, I get strange Hex characters within the saved text. An example of the text that I saved in the editor is attached below:

"Hi #~#Name#~#.Your #~#DocType#~# is in your mailbox.You owe us : #~#Amount#~#Pay UP!!!!!"
