Performance problems with more content in the editor

If we make "bigger" documents (1000 or more signs, tables with 20 to 40 rows or so) the performance for each input is very slow (a delay of 10, 20 seconds from typing to show in the editor). We have this effect in our application but similar in the demo of your website, with ie 7.0 and firefox without bigger differences, same with deactivated firewall/antivirus ...)

What we (or you) can do for better performance?

In Cute Editor, we parse the HTML code in the realtime and clean it automatically. The biggest time sinks in cleaning HTML code is converting tags and attributes to lower case, and adding quotes to attribute values. The cleaner the HTML code, the quicker that Cute Editor is able to clean it.

Try the following suggestions:

1. Set ShowTagSelector property to false

Adam's suggestion does not do anything to help, and this is a very serious issue.

Adam,

we tested today on this page and the latest cutesoft-build from download page in our application with IE7.0. Now the performance is in most cases good (thanks!!!). But in this cases we see performance problems: Scrolling in a bigger page, changing cursor from on table cell to another table cell. In this cases mostly you must wait 5 to 10 seconds before you can type or you have this delay between entry and show signs.

But: In Firefox 2 this problems are not solved!

Do you have ideas (or better a plan) to solve this effects?
