why not fix bugs first and leave new features for new version?

i've been reading the posts about ver 6, and have been waiting anxiously for the new version, but not for new features.

i want it because supposedly it will fix bugs present in ver 5.3

my question is: why not fix the bugs issue patches and work on a new version separately?

why do we need to wait months until a new release?

I am sorry for the troubles. We didn't expect version 6.0 takes so long.

I agree if we know it takes months it's better to release a minor version to resolve the current bugs.

Anyway we are very close to release version 6.0. But we will never let this situation happen again.
