Admin: Really need help to set up this thing!

 

I am using Dnn 4.02 and Cute Editor 5.2, Everything seem work fine except the imageGallery path is always set up to the directory of Portals/0/ whenever how i change the andmin.config, default.config and Guest.config. because the directory of portals/0/ is the root of my website that I don't want  every user to get access. is there any way to set the ImageGallery Path straight to something like Portal/0/UserFolder/ and so people can only get access to the directory of Portals/0/UserFolder/  but Portals/0/ . Like this Forum the imageGallery path is set to forum/uploads/, How did you guys did this? Any solution for this. Help me!

Open your web.config.

 

In CuteEditor section,  Change

            UseDNNRoleASFileNamePrefix="true"  

 

to

 

            UseDNNRoleASFileNamePrefix="false"  

 

 

Admin:

 

 I can't find the  UseDNNRoleASFileNamePrefix="true" ,  Is it the set UseDNNRootImageDirectory="true" to "false"?

Please open your web.config and add the UseDNNRoleASFileNamePrefix="false" to it.

Can someone confirm if this xml variable actually works? It doesn't seem to do anything for me.

 

If you login as admin, it will not do anything for you.

 

Try login as a regular user.

I did login as regular user but just didn't see any existing files.  If I upload an image, a prefix "Member_" will continue to append to the filename and would only see this newly uploaded file.  It seems like UseDNNRoleASFileNamePrefix='false' has no effect.

 

I just downloaded the latest load again tonight (March 6) and observed exactly the same behavior.  It is strange no one talks about it.  Am I the only one seeing this behavior?

Have you updated the provider DotNetNuke.CEHtmlEditorProvider.dll as well?
