When I paste Ms Word text, the bold text is enclosed in <B> tags instead of <STRONG>, and italic in <I> instead of <EM>. But if I select some text in the same editor, and click on Bold or Italic buttons, <STRONG> and <EM> are used. Can this behaviour be changed, so the Ms Word text clean-up is consistent with toolbar buttons?

These are two types of text formatting tags -- logical formatting tags ( <strong> and <em> ), which describe the information in the element, and physical formatting tags (<b> and <i>), which specify its appearance. By default CuteEditor use the logical formatting tags ( <strong> and <em> ). If you want to use the physical tags (<b> and <i>), you can set this property to true.

By default, MS word uses (<b> and <i>) instead of <strong> and <em>.

 

If you want Cute Editor uses (<b> and <i>) as well, you can set the Editor.UsePhysicalFormattingTags Property to true.
