I'm a newbie so go easy. I've read all the blurb on the site but I'm still not sure if this is what I need. I think the text area replacement functionality will give me what I need, but I also need user security and a login/signin mechanism to be able to access the editor functions - I don't want to make it available to all / the general public.

 

Can this product give me this functionality or would I have to combine it with another framework?

The Cute Editor is a text area replacement functionality. However it doesn't contain the user membership management system.

 

Most of the users integrate Cute Editor with own CMS, portal and forums.

 

Cute Editor allows developers to assign a pre-defined set of permissions by group or individual. This prevents a normal user to access the administration functionality.

 

To do that, you need to detect who is the admin first.
