Uploading file error

After installing, I use the editor to upload a file and get this error:

"Sorry there was a problem uploading your file."

Do you know what could be causing this?

have you set up the image gallery path?

Yes I have. I actually left it all as default so I didn't even need to change it. I really need to get this sorted and I have no idea why it isnt working.

It could be a permission issue.

If you are sure you set the permission of this image gallery folder correct, you need to check

DOCUMENT_ROOT

Try

echo $DOCUMENT_ROOT

If you get nothing, you have to check your PHP installation.
