I'm tying to set in a run time path for images to upload Editor1.SetSecurityImageGalleryPath= "c:\mydir\" but I'm getting error what am I doing wrong?

Torman,

If the physical path is not inside the web application's directory, you will get an error.

In the following code example, the physical path "c:\inetpub\wwwroot\uploads" is part of web application's directory.

C# Example:

//use the app-based path 

Editor1.Setting["security:ImageGalleryPath"]= "~/uploads";

//use the absolute path 
Editor1.Setting["security:ImageGalleryPath"]= "/uploads";

//use the physical path 
Editor1.Setting["security:ImageGalleryPath"]= @"c:\inetpub\wwwroot\uploads";

//use the app-based path 

Editor1.SetSecurityImageGalleryPath= "~/uploads";

//use the absolute path 
Editor1.SetSecurityImageGalleryPath= "/uploads";

//use the physical path 
Editor1.SetSecurityImageGalleryPath= @"c:\inetpub\wwwroot\uploads";

Is their any way to save it, if it is not inside the web application's directory? I really need it.

Torman,

When using physical path, the physical path must be part of web application's directory. If your physical path is outside of this application, you can create a virtual diurectory and point it to your physical path.

Editor1.Setting["security:ImageGalleryPath"]= "/uploads";

I'm trying yo save images in to each user directory it should be dynamic. If I delete user all Images should go. In your case I would not know which ones to delete later on.

Torman,

You should create those image gallery folder dynamically, the name of the folder should be something like this:

~/Uploads/Users/Mary/
~/Uploads/Users/John/
~/Uploads/Users/Adam/

When you delete the user, just find that image gallery path and delete it.

But I already have a directory for users siting else where I just need to get that path working
