CuteEditor 6.0 in GridView in UpdatePanel : bug ??

I have an Editor control in a GridView (EditItem), and it works fine.

But when the GridView itself is in an UpdatePanel , the Editor doesn't work anymore.
The javascript error is : 'CuteEditorInitialize is not defined'

Is there a way to get around this ?

I've run into the same problem. Here is a sample project showing this.

Run the project, and click the edit button. The Cute Editor control does not load with the JS exception :

If the Update Panel is removed it works fine.

Using .NET 2.0, AJAX 1.0 (v1.0.61025.0), CuteEditor 6.0.0.0
Browser: IE 6 OR Firefox 2.0

Here is the solution:

Set the EnablePartialRendering property of ScriptManager to false.

Thanks for that, that works, but it does negate the whole point of the Update Panel, I might as well remove it.

This is ridiculous. The solution to the UpdatePanel bug is to turn off partial rendering??? You might as well notify your customers your component doesn't work with Microsoft AJAX, at least that would be an honest response.

I'm experiencing the same problem others are describing. The Editor instance is inside an UpdatePanel, invisible by default. When I show it during a callback, I get the "CuteEditorInitiliaze is not defined" javascript error.

I just upgraded my license to small business. Your site mentioned support for MS AJAX, which is obviously wrong and misleading.

I expect one of 2 things:

- An ETA on when this bug will be fixed.

- If this is not considered a bug, you guys owe me a refund on the license upgrade, because we're going to switch to a competing product.

I'm experiencing the same problem in 6.3. The previous version worked fine in an update panel, and now it has stopped working when the page posts back.

We can reproduce an error on AJAX+GridView now. Maybe that's the reason.

I have/had the latest build (3/16) and it did not work. I had to roll back to an earlier release, but basically the problem was this:

We have a dropdown that causes a postback for an updatepanel. Cuteditor reloads with the async postback but the button bar across the top never shows up. I was getting a javascript error - something like editor.getproperty did not resolve properly. It was passing in the variable "FullPage" to the method call. I tried defining this property in the control instead of taking the default and it didn't seem to help.

Sorry for the sketchy details but I've already spent a bunch of time on this bug and don't have more to reproduce it for you.

It would be very handy if you had a link to a "stable" version of the control, or archived versions. I only see a link to the latest and greatest - maybe I'm missing somthing. I'm using a 6.1 version that has a bug with pasting from word/excel so I get to choose the bug that goes live.
