Installation of v4

This may sound like the dumbest question but ...

Do I have to have installed v3 before attempting to install v4 of CuteChat and Messenger ?

I have spent a lot of time today trying to get the v4 installation of 'web integration' version 4 (chat/messenger) running and have had no luck. At least no luck using only the content of the V4 download.

The only way I could get something to respond to requests with the chat system welcome page was to install v3 first, then copy the content of the v4 zip file over that - replacing whatever it encountered.

Have I missed something vital here or are there other docs for the first time v4 users that I should be refering to before trying my hand at installation of CuteChat v4 ?

It's no need to install v3.

What file did you download ?
and what problem did you get ?

I downloaded http://cutesoft.net/downloads/folders/chat_current_releases/entry28676.aspx

The error page I was receiving was:

Server Error in '/chat' Application.

ChatSystem not installed

You miss the following steps:

b. Initialize an instance of provider when the application starts:

CuteChat.ChatProvider.Instance = new MyChatProvider();
CuteChat.ChatSystem.Start(new CuteChat.AppSystem());

Hi,

Thank you for clarifying that. I don't remember seeing that step in the documentation.

Could you give me the URL of the documentation I should be reading on conjunction with the V4 Chat/Messenger Integration download please ? - Specifically, documentation in which that step b. occurs.
