Connection lost after 10-20 sec. after initiating a chat

I have a jpg of the user chat that says activex is not allowed. Please let me upload files for easier errorreporting.

The web chatwindow is not supposed to use ActiveX ??

    Kind regards

    hjh,

    Which version are you using?

When did you get this problem? Can you explain this in more details?

Re: Connection lost after 10-20 sec. after initiating a chat

    Its version 4 just downloaded.

I got the problem after starting a chat. The chatwindow shows the "browser security" ActiveX not allowed. The operator client after one message send loses the connection.

Please adjust my allowance on this site to upload files. Then I can embed a graped screen on this.

    Kind regards

    1. Youtube can be shown. But no sound.

    2. Which IIS settings do you mean. It is the users chatwindow that says "Activex not allowed".

    3. No sound.

    Kind regards

Re: Connection lost after 10-20 sec. after initiating a chat

It has nothing to do with the appl.pools. We only have one.

I guess the reason is that I browse from a win2003 server with enhanced security. This is the server where the livesupport site is hosted.

I have tried browseing the chat on several others xp/vista machines with the same connection lost result. I guess Adam got the same problem and would investigate futher.

    Kind regards

Re: Connection lost after 10-20 sec. after initiating a chat

    I have tested your website.

It seems that the server would be reseted for an unknown reason.
Not the ASP.NET , but the IIS reseted.
Because I get a network error at first .

Have you tested the LiveSupportWeb on a development PC ?

I think the conversations with customers make the server down.

So , it should be :

    1. When do not chat the customers , the LiveSupport agent software would not report disconnected.

    2. When start chat with the customers , both the customers and the LiveSupport agent software would disconnected.

If so , please send some to Adam. that would help us to find the reason.

    Thanks.

    Regards , Terry .

Re: Connection lost after 10-20 sec. after initiating a chat

The livesupportweb is runned under win2003 and is used for production websites. So I am sure that the IIS is not reset.

There where some errors registered :

That errors would not make the chat disconnected.

Did you test it on your development PC ?

Re: Connection lost after 10-20 sec. after initiating a chat

We have tested it on several PC's with the connection problem. The livesupport website runs as a virtual directory under another .Net 2.0 web application.

We have a livesupport site up and running on the old version. It does not have the connection problem. but have other errors that keep our customer from being satisfied.

Please tells us what your need of information for errorfindning.

    Kind regards

Re: Connection lost after 10-20 sec. after initiating a chat

It's hard to find what's the real problem.
Can I have a FTP account so I can do a small test on your server ?

If you can provide it , please send the username/password to me , using PrivateMessage function on this website .

    Regards , Terry .
